The TAKANAWA GALLERY was established in Takanawa,Tokyo in 1990. The name of the gallery derives from this residential area. In 1994, the gallery moved to Ginza, the most luxurious Tokyo's shopping area.
Taro Migishi, the president of the gallery, was born in an artistic family. In his childhood, studios were his playground. His greatparents Kotaro Migishi(1903〜1934）and Setsuko Migishi(1905〜1999)are very renowned artists. Both of them have their own museums.His father Kotaro Migishi JR is also a recognized artist. Taro Migishi is the kind of art dealer who can understand the heart of artists.
The Takanawa Gallery is specialized in western style oil paintings, water colours, pastels, drawings, prints and sculptures of Japanese artists as well as foreign artists including impressionists, ecole de paris, and modern art.

In the ground floor gallery (main gallery), solo and group exhibitions are held about 10 times a year. And the upper floor gallery (annex)is a distinguished space reserved for important exhibitions.
